Siemens AG has announced the appointment of Vasi Philomin, a seasoned AI expert from Amazon, to lead its Data & Artificial Intelligence division starting July 1. Philomin, who previously served as Vice President of Generative AI at Amazon Web Services (AWS), is set to drive the development and expansion of Siemens' AI portfolio, including the award-winning Industrial Copilot and other AI-powered applications.

Philomin's move to Siemens marks a significant step in the company's ambition to scale its industrial AI offerings. With 35 applications already in its suite, Siemens is poised to further innovate under Philomin's leadership, focusing on the development of an industrial foundational model. This model aims to deliver AI solutions that are not only advanced but also safe, secure, reliable, and trustworthy for industrial applications.

"The next major development stage for AI lies in its interaction with the real, physical world: machines, factories, and infrastructures that independently recognize, analyze, and act," Philomin commented on his transition.
